Job Summary
A growing business operating in the automotive and property sectors is looking for a Senior Accountant to work directly with the Director and CEO, playing a key role in stabilizing, fixing, and strengthening the finance environment.
If you enjoy cleaning up books, improving systems, and being trusted to get things done properly, this role will suit you.
What You’ll Be Responsible For:
- Owning the day-to-day accounting function in a retail-driven environment
- Reviewing, reconciling, and cleaning up financial records to ensure accuracy and control
- Managing month-end: journals, reconciliations, balance sheet reviews
- Preparing management accounts and executive-level financial information
- Playing a key role in accounting system implementations and improvements
- Working closely with senior leadership, providing clear, direct financial insight
- Managing foreign currency transactions and liaising with international stakeholders (Mauritius)
- Strengthening controls, improving processes, and bringing discipline into the finance function
This Role Is For You If You Have:
- BCom Degree (essential)
- Completed SAICA articles (essential)
- 2–3 years’ post-articles experience in retail
OR - Newly Qualified CA(SA) with strong retail audit exposure
- Proven experience fixing and cleaning up financial records
- Exposure to accounting system implementations or migrations
- Solid retail accounting experience (non-negotiable)
- Foreign currency / cross-border exposure (advantageous)
- Confidence to engage directly with senior executives
