Job Summary
The Fixed Asset Accountant is responsible for the end‑to‑end management of the fixed asset function, ensuring accurate recording, tracking, depreciation, and disposal of both tangible and intangible assets. The role involves maintaining the fixed asset register, reconciling asset balances to the general ledger, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards. Working closely with operational and project teams, the Fixed Asset Accountant will track capital expenditure, capitalise completed projects, and support audit and impairment review processes. This role requires strong attention to detail, sound accounting knowledge, and the ability to manage assets across multiple locations.
Skills & Experience:
Strong understanding of fixed asset accounting and asset lifecycle management
Solid knowledge of accounting principles and IFRS, specifically IAS 16 and IAS 36
Experience with asset tagging, depreciation, disposals, and impairment reviews
Ability to reconcile subsidiary ledgers to the general ledger accurately
Strong reporting and documentation skills
Proficiency in accounting systems and advanced Excel
Ability to conduct physical asset counts and manage multi‑location asset portfolios
Strong organisational, time‑management, and multitasking skills
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate cross‑functionally
High attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to work under pressure
Qualification:
Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Accounting or Bookkeeping
