As a Financial Accountant, you'll be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the numbers while helping shape the future of the finance function. What You'll Be Doing

Financial Operations

• Take ownership of monthly accounting processes and month-end reporting.
• Prepare journals, accruals, prepayments, and other accounting adjustments.
• Ensure financial records are accurate, complete, and maintained in accordance with accounting standards.
• Assist with the preparation of management reports and financial information.

Reconciliations & Financial Control

• Prepare and review bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Investigate discrepancies and resolve outstanding reconciling items.
• Support a strong control environment by ensuring the integrity of financial data.
• Assist in maintaining accurate supporting documentation and audit trails.

Accounts Payable & Supplier Management

• Manage supplier reconciliations and support payment processes.
• Ensure invoices are properly captured, coded, and approved.
• Maintain accurate supplier records and assist with query resolution.
• Support efficient cash management through effective accounts payable administration.

Process Enhancement & Efficiency

• Challenge existing ways of working and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Contribute to initiatives that simplify workflows and improve reporting accuracy.
• Assist in creating more efficient finance processes that support future business growth.
• Work alongside stakeholders to implement smarter, scalable finance practices.

Reporting & Business Support

• Provide meaningful financial information to support decision-making.
• Analyse financial data and identify unusual trends or variances.
• Assist with ad hoc projects, reporting requirements, and business initiatives.
• Support the broader finance team's objectives through accurate and timely information.

What We're Looking For

Qualifications

• Accounting qualification, diploma, or relevant accounting experience.

Experience

• Minimum 3 years' experience in an accounting role.
• Strong month-end accounting and reconciliation experience.
• Exposure to financial reporting and management accounts.
• Experience within a fast-paced commercial environment.

Skills

• Strong understanding of accounting principles.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables.
