Job Summary
A well‑established organization within the agricultural industry, based in the Free State, is seeking a Financial Accountant to support the Financial Manager and broader operational teams. This role offers full exposure to the accounting function, hands‑on involvement in reporting and compliance, and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a sector that plays a vital role in South Africa’s economy.
You’ll form part of a finance team that values accuracy, collaboration, and strong interpersonal engagement, while supporting operational decision‑making in a fast‑moving environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compile financial and management reports to support operational and business decision‑making.
- Manage and maintain control of the full accounting function.
- Handle tax matters and assist with IFRS implementation and compliance.
- Prepare annual financial statements and supporting documentation.
- Perform balance sheet and account reconciliations.
- Maintain strong financial controls and contribute to process improvements.
Job Experience and Skills Required:
- BCom Degree or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Financial Accountant or similar role.
- Experience within the agricultural sector would be advantageous (candidates from other industries are welcome).
- Strong numerical and analytical ability with excellent attention to detail.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience working with ERP / accounting systems.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
