Job Summary
Ensure the accurate and timely preparation of consolidated group financial statements within 10 business days post month-end
Perform detailed analysis of group EBITDA, clearly identifying key variances and underlying performance drivers
Enhance working capital performance by collaborating with stakeholders to reduce debtor days and optimise inventory levels
Uphold strong audit and compliance standards, achieving zero material findings and ensuring prompt resolution of all audit-related matters
Drive standardisation of financial practices across all hospitals, including the chart of accounts, policies, and reporting frameworks within agreed timelines
Maintain a high level of accuracy and compliance in payroll processing, targeting an error rate below 0.5%
Build and strengthen finance team capability through effective leadership development while sustaining low staff turnover
Deliver clear, insightful financial reports and dashboards to support informed decision-making at both management and executive levels
Skills & Experience:
CA(SA)
Over 10 years of progressive finance experience, including a minimum of 5 years in senior multi-site or group financial leadership roles (healthcare sector exposure advantageous)
Demonstrated expertise in hospital finance, group consolidations, and effective working capital management
Proven track record in the implementation and optimisation of ERP or hospital financial systems, with a strong emphasis on automated financial reporting
Practical experience in managing internal and external audits, taxation, and regulatory compliance within the South African environment
Strong capability in preparing and presenting comprehensive investor reporting packs
Exhibits sound strategic thinking by analysing information from multiple sources, applying balanced judgement, and aligning decisions with organisational objectives
Consistently achieves results by meeting or exceeding targets, demonstrating initiative and making value-driven decisions while maintaining a patient-focused and continuous improvement mindset
Shows resilience and adaptability by effectively navigating challenges, resolving issues, and upholding high standards of integrity, accountability, and professionalism
Leads and inspires teams by promoting collaboration, building trust, developing talent, and influencing stakeholders through clear communication and well-articulated ideas
Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field (postgraduate qualification advantageous)
CA(SA) or CIMA
