Job Summary
A well-established FMCG organisation is seeking a Finance Lead to join their high-performing team. This role sits at the centre of finance and operations, responsible for driving cost discipline, delivering on the cost saving agenda, and ensuring strong financial control across the business.The successful candidate will act as a key business partner to operational stakeholders, supporting decision-making through insightful reporting, accurate forecasting, and proactive cost analysis. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate who thrives in a fast-paced FMCG environment and wants to build strong commercial finance exposure without having direct people management responsibilities.
WIIFM: Gain strong operational finance exposure in FMCG while driving a cost-saving agenda and working closely with senior stakeholders across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive cost management and cost saving initiatives across the business, ensuring delivery against targets
- Provide finance and operations control through accurate monitoring of spend, cost drivers, and performance metrics
- Own budgeting and forecasting cycles, including variance analysis and corrective action recommendations
- Prepare and deliver monthly management reporting packs with clear insights and performance commentary
- Engage with key stakeholders across operations, supply chain, and commercial teams to support decision-making and improve financial outcomes
Job Experience and Skills Required:
- BCom Accounting / Finance Degree (essential)
- CIMA qualification in progress is essential
- Minimum 3–6 years’ experience in a finance role within FMCG, manufacturing, or supply chain environments
- Strong experience in cost management, budgeting, forecasting, and monthly reporting
- Proven ability to drive cost control and savings initiatives
- Advanced Excel skills (essential) and experience working on ERP systems (SAP / Syspro / Oracle / Sage or similar)
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to influence without authority
- No direct reports – candidate must be comfortable operating independently and taking ownership
