Key Responsibilities:
- Take full ownership of month-end processes including journals, accruals, provisions, and reconciliations
- Oversee IFRS 16 accounting, lease management, and compliance requirements
- Review and validate balance sheet reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy
- Analyse financial performance and provide meaningful, actionable insights
- Maintain and manage fixed asset registers, including disposals and transfers
- Assist with annual financial statements, tax submissions, and SARS engagements
- Liaise with both internal and external auditors
- Provide technical accounting support to operational teams and branch functions
- Drive continuous improvements in processes, controls, and reporting quality
- Ensure adherence to IFRS, tax legislation, POPIA, and internal policies
Job Experience & Skills Required:
- BCom Degree in Accounting or Finance
- SAIPA or SAICA articles advantageous
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a full-function accounting role
- Proven exposure to internal and external audit processes
- Strong IFRS 16 knowledge and practical application
- Experience with VAT, Income Tax, and SARS interactions
- Industry exposure within logistics, transport, supply chain, wholesale, or distribution
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience on Sage ERP (or similar accounting systems)
- Strong technical accounting and financial reporting capabilities
- Excellent analytical thinking, organisational ability, and problem-solving skills
- Able to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines
