Job Summary
Take full ownership of the standard costing function across all product lines, ensuring accuracy and integrity of Bills of Materials (BOMs) within the ERP system (Evolution)
Deliver detailed monthly variance analysis (actual vs. standard), providing meaningful insights to the CFO and operational teams
Identify and drive cost-saving initiatives across materials, labour, and overheads through in-depth analysis
Lead the RFQ costing process in collaboration with Sales and Operations, ensuring pricing aligns with cost structures and target margins
Conduct product profitability analysis to support strategic and commercial decision-making
Oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts, including insightful commentary for executive review
Produce accurate financial reports (monthly, quarterly, annual) in line with IFRS requirements
Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring completeness and accuracy of financial records
Maintain oversight of inventory accounting, ensuring accuracy across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods
Implement and strengthen internal controls across all financial processes
Ensure compliance with South African tax regulations, including VAT, income tax, and payroll taxes
Lead and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, performance, and continuous improvement
Skills & Experience:
Minimum 5–10 years’ experience, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment
Strong expertise in standard costing and activity-based costing methodologies
Proven experience working on ERP systems (Sage Evolution highly advantageous)
Commercially astute with the ability to translate data into strategic insights
Strong leadership and team management capability
A proactive, analytical thinker who thrives in a fast-paced environment
Qualification:
ACMA / CGMA (non-negotiable)
