Scope of Work
The main purpose of the position is to develop, test, maintain and support the BSTD Transactional Systems application solutions and related technologies in support of the RTGS Renewal Programme in the delivery of new information technology (IT) solutions to meet the NPSD business needs within the organisation
The scope will include but will not be limited to:
Key deliverables:
• Engage with the Business Analysts and Business at large to ensure complete understanding of the business objectives, drivers, functions, structures, detailed workflows and information needs as per the business specifications document.
• Participate in planning and executing system and solution architecture and design activities.
• Communicate and present the system and solution designs to the stakeholders and amend where appropriate.
• Contribute to the Master System and Solution Design, where new concepts can be added and designs have the possibility of re-use.
• Provide development functionality quality assurance to ensure the envisaged design concept and architecture is implemented as proposed and update design where appropriate.
• Ensure that implemented system design performs adequately for specific systems and make amendments where appropriate.
Interacting with testers, developers’ and project managers, during the development phase, to ensure the system is properly implemented and monitoring whether requirements are being met.
• Manage the functional and non-functional quality of the solution being deployed as per the system architecture.
• Manage system and solution design change requirements.
• Participate in user acceptance testing (ensuring the deployed solution meets the business needs and complies with the envisaged system design and architecture).
• Conduct any other duties and/or deliverables closely related or necessary for the purpose of delivering the services.
• Support and maintenance of SAMOS and SADC RTGS
• Documenting the existing solution in support of the SAMOS and SADC RTGS review

Experience:
• A minimum of 10 to 15 years’ experience as a Senior Analyst Developer with the majority of the time using COBOL
• Advanced experience in COBOL
• Advanced experience in CICS
• Advanced experience in DB2
• Sound understanding and experience in MQSeries, Z/OS, JCL
• Advanced knowledge of programming standards and codes of good practice
• Advanced knowledge of Analysis and Design
Knowledge of Endevor and Xpeditor will be an added advantage
