Job Description
The Quality Engineering Technical Lead is responsible for overseeing the quality assurance processes within securities lending operations. This role requires the leadership of technical quality engineering activities, ensuring that systems and processes meet stringent quality standards and regulatory requirements. The position demands close collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, high-quality solutions aligned with business objectives in the banking and finance sector.
Job Duties
- Lead the planning, design and implementation of quality assurance strategies for securities lending platforms and applications.
- Develop, maintain and optimise automated and manual testing frameworks to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal quality policies relevant to securities lending and broader banking regulations.
- Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and operations teams to understand requirements and translate them into effective test scenarios.
- Manage defect tracking, prioritisation and resolution processes to maintain high-quality deliverables.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to quality engineers, fostering best practises and continuous improvement.
- Analyse quality metrics and produce detailed reports for senior management to support data-driven decision-making.
- Drive continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) quality assurance activities to accelerate release cycles without compromising quality.
- Identify risks related to quality and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes and emerging technologies in quality engineering and securities lending.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in quality engineering leadership within the securities lending domain.
- Strong understanding of securities lending operations, processes and regulatory environment.
- Demonstrable expertise in designing and implementing automated and manual testing strategies.
- Experience with quality assurance tools, test management and defect tracking systems.
- Ability to lead technical teams and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or a related discipline.
Experience
- At least five years of experience in quality engineering with a focus on banking and finance, specifically securities lending.
- Proven track record of leading quality engineering teams and delivering complex projects on time.
- Experience working within regulated financial environments, ensuring adherence to compliance standards.
Knowledge and Skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of securities lending lifecycle and associated risks.
- Strong technical knowledge of software development lifecycle and quality assurance methodologies.
- Expertise in test automation frameworks and scripting languages.
- Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines.
- Ability to interpret complex business requirements and transform them into effective testing solutions.
- Excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certification in quality assurance or software testing, such as ISTQB or equivalent.
- Experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies within banking and finance projects.
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks applicable to securities lending, such as Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) regulations.
- Familiarity with performance testing and security testing principles.
Working Conditions
