Tax Manager

Hire Resolve is seeking an experienced, deadline-driven Tax Manager to join a dynamic firm of Chartered Accountants based in Sunninghill, Gauteng. This permanent, senior-level position is responsible for leading the tax department, managing a team of Tax Consultants and a Tax Administrator, managing complex SARS disputes, and overseeing end-to-end tax compliance for a diverse client portfolio.

Key Performance Areas:

• Departmental Leadership & Management: Supervise and direct a team of Tax Consultants and a Tax Administrator, ensuring department targets and strict SARS deadlines are consistently met.

• Tax Calculations & Compliance: Compile tax calculations and complete income tax returns for all entities, including individuals, companies, and trusts (including IT3(t) submissions).

• Provisional & Indirect Tax Administration: Oversee IRP6 provisional tax submissions, Dividend Tax, Securities Transfer Tax (STT), Customs applications, and EMP501 reconciliations with IRP5/IT3 certificate issuance.

• SARS Dispute Resolution & Advisory: Lead tax audits, queries, objections, and high-level SARS disputes including tax legal processes.

• Strategic Advisory & Foreign Tax: Formulate written tax opinions, provide consultative tax advice to clients, and handle complex tax emigration and foreign tax/Double Taxation Agreement (DTA) matters.

• Quality Review & Risk Control: Conduct thorough reviews of all tax calculations, returns, and SARS income tax/VAT/PAYE assessments prior to submission to identify errors and ensure accuracy.

Minimum Requirements:

• Education: BCom degree with Tax, Advanced Certificate in Tax, or HDip Tax qualification.

• Professional Registration: Registered Tax Practitioner with SARS/SAIT (or eligible for immediate registration).

• Experience: Minimum 10 trackable years of direct experience in a tax-focused position covering a broad spectrum of taxation assignments and statutory admin.

• Technical & Software Mastery: Advanced proficiency in SARS eFiling functions and administration. Working knowledge of GreatSoft, EasyFile, and advanced Excel is highly advantageous.

• Key Skills: Exceptional communication skills for liaising with clients, SARS officials, team members, and firm Partners.

Position Details:

• Location: Sunninghill, Gauteng (Onsite / Permanent Senior Role).

• Remuneration: R50,000 CTC per month (negotiable depending on experience and qualifications; no pension or medical aid benefits).
