Are you a highly analytical Financial Accountant with specialized experience in the mining industry and a mastery of Syspro?

A leading organization in the Mining sector is seeking a professional Financial Accountant to provide critical financial information to management through meticulous data analysis and reporting. This role is essential for maintaining the integrity of the financial system and ensuring full compliance with industry standards and legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Analysis

• Research and analyze accounting data to provide accurate financial information to management. 

• Summarize current financial status by preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other comprehensive reports.

• Prepare special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.

   
  

• Recommend financial actions by thoroughly analyzing various accounting options.

   

Operational Accounting

• Prepare assets, liabilities, and account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.

• Document all financial transactions and substantiate them by auditing supporting documents.

• Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.

• Prepare payments by verifying documentation and requesting necessary disbursements.

   

Compliance & Controls

• Maintain accounting control by preparing and recommending robust policies and procedures.

• Comply with financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation and advising on required actions.

• Oversee accounting procedures by researching and interpreting complex regulations.

• Maintain customer confidence and protect operations by keeping all financial information strictly confidential.

   
   

Minimum Requirements

Technical Experience:

•  Education: Minimum B.Com Accounting Degree or B.Com Business Management.

• Systems: Proficiency in Syspro ERP is a MUST.

• Industry: Previous experience within the Mining industry is highly preferred.

•  Experience: 2–5 years of proven experience in an accounting position.

•  Skills: Advanced financial system training and strong Excel skills are essential.

• Strong knowledge of financial reporting and industry standards.

• Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on business process optimization.

• Ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of management

• Strategic thinking approach with the ability to review data and make relevant decisions.
