Job Summary
GAS Accounting is looking for an experienced bookkeeper to join our production team in Sandton. You'll manage the full bookkeeping cycle for a portfolio of clients, from gathering source documents to delivering accurate, review-ready management accounts. This is a fast-paced, deadline-driven role with real career growth into Senior Bookkeeper, Accountant and Account Manager positions, and we support ongoing study.
Key responsibilities
- Collect client records and follow up on outstanding information
- Process transactions and VAT in Xero across multiple clients
- Complete monthly bank and supplier reconciliations
- Maintain fixed asset registers and process payroll journals
- Clean up and catch up incomplete historical records
- Prepare books for management accounts and year-end handover
Requirements
- 5+ years' bookkeeping experience in an accounting practice or multi-client environment, managing 16 to 22 sets of books
- Tertiary qualification in bookkeeping or accounting
- Experience on Xero, Sage and Pastel; Dext, Hubdoc and Karbon advantageous
- Strong Excel skills
- Ability to review and analyse management accounts
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure
