Property Accountant

Hire Resolve is seeking an autonomous, detail-disciplined Property Accountant to take full ownership of the finance function for our client’s property and holding entities in Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha). Reporting directly to management, this standalone role covers end-to-end accounting to trial balance and audit sign-off, loan interest calculations, property contract administration, tax submission, and taking ownership of the group's migration from Sage Pastel Partner to Zoho.

Key Performance Areas:

• Full-Function Property Accounting: Take complete ownership of the daily finance function, general ledger allocations, and trial balance for property and holding entities.

• Treasury & Loan Account Reconciliations: Perform monthly loan interest calculations, intercompany loan reconciliations, and complex treasury allocations across group entities.

• System Migration & Automation: Lead the operational transition from Sage Pastel Partner to Zoho, designing automated rules, workflows, and system enhancements to eliminate manual processing.

• Full SARS Tax Compliance: Independently prepare and submit statutory returns directly to SARS, including VAT, provisional tax, and annual corporate income tax returns.

• Audit File Preparation: Compile comprehensive annual audit files and manage direct communications with external auditors through to final sign-off.

• Contract & Operational Administration: Oversee property lease contracts, rental administration, and monthly management reporting directly for leadership review.

Minimum Requirements:

• Education: Completed Accounting Qualification (BCom Degree or National Diploma). SAIPA or CIMA registration is a strong plus.

• Experience: Proven experience in full-function accounting to trial balance and beyond, specifically covering property sector accounting (commercial letting, rental, or managing agent), intercompany loan reconciliations, and holding company treasury.

• Tax Experience: Hands-on experience independently preparing and directly submitting VAT, provisional tax, and annual tax returns to SARS.

• Systems Expertise: Experience with Zoho and Sage Pastel Partner. Prior involvement in system migrations or financial implementations is highly advantageous.

• Working Style: Highly autonomous self-starter with exceptional detail discipline, composure, and a solution-oriented mindset. Must be capable of managing responsibilities independently with minimal supervision.

• Location: Must be based in Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha) or genuinely committed to relocating. Strictly on-site role (no hybrid or remote options).

• Remuneration: Market-Related CTC (commensurate with experience).
