Our client is hiring a Trainee Accountant will form part of a dynamic team providing accounting, tax, and general advisory services to a client portfolio. The role involves assisting managers with accounting and regulatory requirements while building strong client relationships to exceed service delivery expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting

• Process transactions from source documents into Xero
• Perform general ledger reconciliations and prepare trial balances
• Prepare and maintain fixed asset registers
• Perform tax and deferred tax computations
• Assist with ad-hoc accounting tasks

VAT Submissions

• Prepare VAT returns and reconciliations for review
• Submit returns and notify clients of payment requirements
• Follow up with clients to ensure payments are made

Financial Statements

• Compile annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards

General Administration

• Monitor work-in-progress for client portfolios
• Attend to queries from SARS and clients

Candidate Requirements

Qualifications

• Completed Matric with Accounting and Mathematics (university exemption), and
• Enrolled in a BCom degree or equivalent accounting qualification with the intention of completing SAIPA articles, or
• Completed BCom degree or equivalent and ready to commence SAIPA articles

Other Requirements

• Proficient in Afrikaans and English
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Experience with Xero (advantageous)
• Experience with Dext or Hubdoc (advantageous)

Location

• Kimberley is the preferred location
• Candidates must be based in Kimberley or willing to relocate
