Credit Controller – Umhlanga, Durban
Role Overview:
Office-based Credit Controller positions supporting a UK finance team. Responsible for managing customer accounts, ensuring effective credit control, and maintaining strong financial procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Full ownership of assigned customer accounts, including identifying and managing overdue balances
- Assist with resolving customer disputes to facilitate timely payments
- Collaborate with Sales Ledger Administration to manage credit balances, unallocated cash, and aged debt
- Process and review credit applications and conduct ongoing credit assessments
- Administer Direct Debit schemes and manage payment arrangements
- Support Sales Ledger projects and improvement initiatives
- Manage incoming customer communications and payment requests
- Assist with invoice issuing, “on stop” orders, and monthly statements
- Provide cross-functional support within the Finance Department
- Comply with company policies, procedures, and quality standards
Skills & Experience:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook
- Solid understanding of finance and credit control principles
- At least four years’ experience in credit control or finance
- Strong customer service and professional communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and problem-solving ability
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in South Africa and the UK
