Key Responsibilities
- Lead process engineering activities across studies, projects, and operational improvement initiatives.
- Develop process designs, mass balances, process flow diagrams (PFDs), and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
- Conduct process simulations, equipment sizing, and process optimisation studies.
- Support feasibility studies, concept development, detailed design, commissioning, and plant start-up activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve plant efficiency, throughput, recovery, safety, and sustainability.
- Provide technical leadership to multidisciplinary project teams.
- Conduct process investigations, root cause analyses, and troubleshooting activities.
- Develop and review technical specifications, reports, and engineering deliverables.
- Liaise with clients, operations teams, equipment suppliers, and project stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, engineering standards, and best practices.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years' experience in process engineering within mining, mineral processing, oil & gas, or heavy industrial environments.
- Proven experience across project and operational environments.
- Strong knowledge of process design, optimisation, and plant performance improvement.
- Experience with process simulation software and engineering design tools.
- Exposure to feasibility studies, detailed design, commissioning, and plant support activities.
- Strong understanding of process safety and risk management principles.
- Professional registration with ECSA or progress towards registration will be advantageous.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
