Job Summary
Costing
Prepare and maintain accurate costings for machinery and components.
Calculate material, labour and production costs where applicable.
Review supplier pricing and material costs.
Monitor actual costs against quoted or budgeted costs and investigate variances.
Assist with job costing and profitability analysis.
Maintain accurate costing information on the company's system.
Inventory & Stock Control
Monitor stock levels of engineering materials, components, consumables and spares.
Ensure accurate recording of stock receipts, issues and transfers.
Conduct stock counts and reconcile physical stock against system balances.
Investigate stock discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
Assist with stock replenishment and identifying slow-moving or obsolete stock.
Liaise with procurement, production, stores and finance to ensure stock availability and accuracy.
Reporting & Administration
Prepare costing, stock valuation and inventory reports.
Maintain accurate records and supporting documentation.
Assist with month-end stock reconciliations.
Identify opportunities to improve cost control, stock accuracy and operational efficiency.
Minimum Requirements
Previous experience in costing, inventory control or stock management, preferably in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
Good understanding of materials costing, stock movements and inventory reconciliations.
Strong numerical and analytical skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Experience using an ERP, stock management or accounting system.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work with production, procurement, stores and finance teams.
