The engineer may support projects from assessment and concept development through preliminary design, costing, reporting and implementation planning. Water and wastewater engineers commonly provide technical direction, assess infrastructure, support treatment-system design and travel to project sites where required. Key responsibilities Assess water and wastewater infrastructure and treatment systems. Review water demand, wastewater flows, capacity, condition and performance. Support water and wastewater balances and identify losses or inefficiencies. Assess pipelines, reservoirs, pump stations, treatment works and related assets. Review water-quality and wastewater-monitoring information. Identify operational, maintenance and compliance risks. Develop practical improvement, rehabilitation and upgrade recommendations. Prepare technical reports, project scopes and engineering schedules. Contribute to preliminary designs, specifications, bills of quantities and cost estimates. Support hydraulic assessments, modelling and infrastructure planning. Participate in site inspections, stakeholder meetings and technical workshops. Work with GIS, SCADA, telemetry, NRW and data specialists. Support implementation roadmaps and project-priority plans. Ensure recommendations consider health, safety, environment.Error!
