Job Summary
Assist in the conceptualization and design of mechanical components, machines, and systems
Develop detailed 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings using CAD software (AutoCAD, Inventor, etc.)
Support the research and development of new products and improvements to existing designs
Collaborate with production, procurement, and project teams to ensure design feasibility and cost efficiency
Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs), technical documentation, and design reports
Participate in prototype assembly, testing, and validation to ensure quality and functionality
Implement design revisions and updates in line with customer requirements and engineering feedback
Maintain high standards of accuracy and adhere to company quality and safety procedures
Skills & Experience:
Minimum 1 to 2 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably within a machinery or manufacturing environment.
Experience in machining, fitting, or turning is advantageous.
Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar).
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively within a team.
Strong communication skills and a collaborative, hands-on approach.
Innovative thinker with a passion for continuous learning and improvement.
Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering (BEng / BTech).
Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered.
