The impact you’ll have- Drive end-to-end tooling design, from concept through to production-ready precision
- Design multi-cavity injection moulds and complex metal press tools that optimise cycle time and manufacturability
- Lead the development of progression dies, including strip layouts and forming strategies
- Apply simulation and DFM methodologies to eliminate risk before it reaches the toolroom
- Act as the critical link between design and manufacturing, resolving real-time challenges during tool build
- Influence the full lifecycle of tooling, from T1 trials to continuous improvement and redesign
What sets you apartYou don’t just understand tooling—you anticipate behaviour, material response, and production realities. You know that a successful design is one that performs consistently under pressure, not just on screen.
- Proven experience designing both plastic injection moulds and metal press tools
- Strong background in progression tooling and strip layout development
- Deep understanding of tool steels, heat treatment, and polymer characteristics
- Proficient in SolidWorks and/or Autodesk Fusion, with Mastercam experience
- Strong knowledge of CNC machining, EDM, and toolroom practices
- Ability to troubleshoot and refine designs based on real-world production feedback
- Experience working within ISO-driven manufacturing environments
Why this role mattersEvery product starts with a tool. Every delay, defect, or inefficiency can often be traced back to design decisions made long before production began. In this role, your expertise will not just support production—it will define it.
If you are ready to move beyond routine design work and take ownership of tooling that drives manufacturing excellence, this is your opportunity to step into a role where your thinking makes the difference.
