Job & Company Description:
Our client specializes in the design and manufacture of mineral processing equipment and is looking for a hands-on draughtsman who can manage the full design scope of a project. Unlike larger organizations where modelling, detailing, and fabrication are divided among specialists, this role requires an individual capable of executing the complete design package independently.You will be responsible for the design and detailing of equipment such as thickeners, linear screens, flocculant plants, samplers, mixers, and other process plant equipment. The successful candidate will work closely with engineers and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are accurate, manufacturable, and delivered on time.
Education:
- Draughting Certification, National Diploma, or related Mechanical Engineering qualification
- Autodesk Inventor certification advantageous
Job Experience & Skills Required:
- Minimum 5 years of mechanical draughting experience
- Strong Autodesk Inventor experience (essential)
- Proven ability to complete full equipment designs from modelling to fabrication drawings
- Experience with:
- Mechanical equipment design
- Structural steel detailing
- Piping layouts
- Platework detailing
- Assembly drawings
- Fabrication drawings
- Bill of Materials generation
- Experience within mining, mineral processing, heavy engineering, or process plant environments
- Strong understanding of manufacturing and fabrication requirements
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of complete project deliverables
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Experience in smaller engineering environments with broad responsibilities will be highly advantageous
Additional Requirements:
- Candidates will be required to complete a practical Autodesk Inventor assessment before interview consideration.
- Must demonstrate experience designing complete equipment packages rather than isolated components.
- Comfortable working in a hands-on, fast-paced engineering environment.
