The Opportunity
You will play a pivotal role in transforming process designs into fully operational infrastructure. Working across engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, and commissioning, you'll be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and according to specification.
This role is ideal for a practical engineer who enjoys balancing technical expertise, project management, and stakeholder engagement while seeing projects through from conception to completion.
What You'll Be Doing
- Managing the full execution and delivery of engineering projects
- Coordinating timelines, resources, budgets, and project milestones
- Acting as the technical link between engineers, draughtsmen, fabricators, site teams, and clients
- Reviewing 3D plant layouts, piping systems, structural steel designs, and mechanical specifications
- Evaluating vendor submissions and ensuring compliance with engineering and quality standards
- Leading Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) activities
- Overseeing mechanical installation, equipment alignment, and site construction activities
- Managing Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and mechanical handover for commissioning
- Driving project success while maintaining quality, safety, and cost objectives
Who We're Looking For
You're not simply an engineer. You're a problem-solver, coordinator, and project leader who understands both the technical and practical realities of large-scale industrial projects.
Requirements
- BEng or BTech in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 5 years' project engineering experience within mining, mineral processing, heavy industry, or plant construction environments
- Experience managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Strong understanding of:
- Structural fabrication
- Welding standards and codes
- Piping systems
- Rotating equipment
- Familiarity with project management software such as MS Project
- Exposure to design review platforms such as SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, or AutoCAD Plant 3D
- Strong commercial awareness and stakeholder management skills
- Valid driver's licence and own transport
- Willingness to travel to mine sites during installation and commissioning phases
Why Consider This Opportunity?
This role offers far more than project administration. It provides the opportunity to lead technically challenging projects from design review through to successful plant handover, directly influencing project outcomes and operational success.
If you're an engineer who enjoys taking ownership, solving complex challenges, and seeing tangible results from your work, this could be the career-defining opportunity you've been looking for.
