Job Summary
What You'll Be Doing
- Producing detailed mechanical, structural, and plant layout drawings for mining and mineral processing projects.
- Developing General Arrangements, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and manufacturing detail drawings.
- Creating and maintaining accurate 3D models and engineering documentation.
- Collaborating with engineers, project managers, and clients to deliver practical and efficient design solutions.
- Reviewing drawings and ensuring compliance with project standards and quality requirements.
- Managing drawing revisions and maintaining document control throughout project lifecycles.
- Providing technical support during fabrication, construction, and installation phases.
- Mentoring junior draughting personnel and contributing to continuous improvement within the design team.
What We're Looking For
- National Diploma or relevant qualification in Draughting, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of draughting experience within mining, mineral processing, heavy industrial, or materials handling environments.
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D modelling software such as Inventor, SolidWorks, Plant 3D, or similar.
- Strong understanding of structural steelwork, mechanical equipment, piping systems, conveyors, chutes, tanks, and process plant layouts.
- Experience producing fabrication and manufacturing drawings for industrial projects.
- A self-starter capable of managing multiple projects while maintaining exceptional quality standards.
