Job Summary
Company and Job Description:The successful candidate will be involved in the design and development of heavy‑duty mechanical equipment used in industrial and mining applications. The position requires both creativity and technical precision, with a strong focus on manufacturability, safety, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and refine designs for equipment such as feeder breakers, reclaim feeders, sizers, and apron feeders.
- Produce high‑quality 3D models and detailed technical drawings using SolidWorks and related CAD software.
- Prepare G.A. drawings along with accurate manufacturing documentation.
- Perform necessary engineering calculations and ensure all outputs align with ISO 9001 requirements.
- Work closely with draughting teams and production personnel to resolve technical queries and support efficient manufacturing.
- Provide regular updates and technical input to the Technical Manager.
- Assist with engineering improvements, updates to existing designs, and ongoing product optimisation.
Job Experience & Skills Required (Ideal Candidate Profile):
- BSc or BTech in Mechanical Engineering or a related qualification.
- A minimum of 5 years hands‑on experience in mechanical design and fabrication environments.
- Strong command of SolidWorks (3D) and AutoCAD (2D).
- Solid analytical ability and a systematic approach to solving engineering problems.
- Experience working within an ISO 9001 quality framework.
- Exposure to the mining sector will be considered beneficial.
- Ability to interpret and translate complex design requirements.
- Clear communication skills and a collaborative working style.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to balance multiple design projects concurrently.
