A well-established company is seeking an experienced Engineering Technician to join their team in Gqeberha.

The successful candidate will provide specialised engineering, hydraulic and technical support on material handling equipment, both in the workshop and at customer sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide professional and efficient technical support to customers.

• Perform high-quality repairs, maintenance and manufacturing of material handling components.

• Conduct welding, machining, fitting and related engineering work.

• Operate lathes, milling machines, grinders and welding equipment safely and effectively.

• Diagnose and repair hydraulic equipment and systems.

• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, manuals and specifications.

• Ensure all work complies with applicable safety standards and procedures.

• Communicate effectively with customers, workshop staff and management.

• Maintain accurate, high-quality workmanship and a clean, organised work area.

• Participate in standby and overtime duties when required.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent.

• Qualified Welder, Turner/Machinist, Fitter or Boilermaker with relevant trade certification.

• Minimum 5 years' relevant experience, including experience with forklifts or similar material handling equipment.

• Valid Code 8 driver's licence.

• Strong hydraulic equipment repair experience.

• Ability to read and interpret technical information and schematics.

• Strong problem-solving, prioritisation and decision-making skills.

• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Ability to work independently and under pressure.

• Strong commitment to safety, quality and customer service.

• Willingness to work overtime and standby when required.

Advantageous

• Advanced welding experience with relevant trade papers.

• Advanced hydraulic equipment repair experience.
