Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Sales Representative with a minimum of 5 years’ proven sales experience in industrial fasteners, adhesives, and engineering consumables. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving revenue growth, developing long-term customer relationships, and expanding market share within the industrial, manufacturing, construction, and engineering sectors across South Africa.
This role requires strong technical product knowledge, consultative selling skills, and the ability to engage with procurement departments, engineers, workshop managers, and maintenance teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales & Business Development
Identify and develop new business opportunities within assigned territory.
Maintain and grow existing customer accounts through consistent engagement.
Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
Conduct customer site visits, product demonstrations, and technical consultations.
Prepare and deliver professional sales presentations and proposals.
Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts within company guidelines.
2. Product Portfolio Management
Sell and promote a range of:
Industrial fasteners (bolts, nuts, screws, anchors, threaded rods, etc.)
Adhesives (thread lockers, epoxies, bonding agents, sealants)
Engineering consumables (cutting tools, abrasives, lubricants, PPE, power tools)
Provide customers with technical guidance on product selection and application suitability.
3. Customer Relationship Management
Build strong relationships with engineers, buyers, maintenance managers, and production managers.
Provide after-sales support and resolve product or service issues promptly.
Monitor customer stock levels and identify replenishment opportunities.
Maintain accurate records of customer interactions in CRM systems.
4. Market Intelligence
Monitor competitor activities and market trends.
Identify new product opportunities and customer requirements.
Provide feedback to management regarding pricing trends and demand forecasts.
5. Reporting & Administration
Submit weekly sales reports and pipeline updates.
Maintain accurate forecasting and territory planning.
Ensure timely submission of quotations and follow-ups.
Coordinate with internal sales, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure customer satisfaction.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum 5 years’ proven sales experience in industrial fasteners, adhesives, and engineering consumables.
Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Strong technical understanding of fastener applications and engineering tools.
Established network within manufacturing, mining, construction, or engineering sectors in South Africa.
Valid South African driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
