We are seeking a skilled, experienced and safety-conscious Electrician to join an underground chrome mining operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, testing, fault-finding, repair, maintenance and safe operation of electrical systems and equipment within the plant, with particular focus on High Tension (HT) and Low Tension (LT) systems.
The role requires strong technical and problem-solving skills, a commitment to safety, operational excellence and compliance with mining standards.
Install, inspect, test, maintain and repair electrical systems, machinery and equipment.
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance, fault-finding and repairs.
Work safely with HT and LT electrical systems.
Conduct electrical testing and ensure equipment meets required specifications.
Identify electrical hazards and implement corrective measures.
Assist with planned maintenance, breakdowns and emergency repairs.
Minimise downtime through effective fault diagnosis and timely repairs.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance, faults and repairs.
Work with maintenance, engineering and production teams to ensure optimal plant performance.
Follow mine safety procedures, permit-to-work, lock-out/tag-out and operational protocols.
Maintain good housekeeping and participate in inspections, audits and safety initiatives.
Perform other reasonable duties associated with the position.
Grade 12 / Matric – Required
Recognised Electrician Trade Certificate – Required
5–10 years' operational experience in a chrome plant environment
5–10 years' experience with HT and LT plant electrical systems
Proven experience as an Electrician within a chrome plant environment.
Strong electrical fault-finding, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Proven ability to work safely and effectively in mining/industrial environments.
Medically fit and able to obtain a mine-entry medical certificate.
Physically fit and capable of working underground, including confined and challenging conditions.
Clear criminal background check.
Good verbal and written English communication skills.
Reliable, responsible and able to comply with strict mine safety procedures.
Non-local candidates must be willing to relocate at their own expense.
Willing to work shifts, overtime, weekends and public holidays when required.
Willing to comply with all site-specific safety, medical, access and induction requirements.

A qualified Electrician with substantial hands-on experience in a chrome processing plant and underground mining environment, particularly with HT and LT systems. The ideal candidate will be technically competent, safety-driven and able to diagnose and resolve electrical faults efficiently to support continuous plant operations.
