Job Summary
THE NON-NEGOTIABLE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE ARE:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, Operations Management, or a related technical field, AND a minimum of 5 years experience managing projects within an operational and industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience delivering capital projects, improvement initiatives, or strategic industrial programmes.
- Strong Industrial Manufacturing insight with a good understanding of plant operations and asset-intensive environments.
- Demonstrated experience working within high-safety and compliance-driven environments AND comprehensive working experience on Office 365 and SAP.
- A valid driver's license, a passport, and the willingness to travel as required.
It will also count in your favour if you have:- Formal Project Management qualification or certification.- Exposure to multi-site, regional or international collaboration.- Comfortable operating between operational detail and strategic perspective.- Effective communication with different areas and hierarchical levels.
DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:
PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND DELIVERY
- Leading projects end-to-end, including scope definition, planning, execution, monitoring, control, and closure.
- Delivering projects on time, within budget, and to agreed quality standards.
- Establishing and maintaining appropriate project governance, controls, documentation, and reporting.
- Identifying, assessing, and managing project risks, dependencies, and constraints, escalating where required.
INDUSTRIAL IMPROVEMENT AND STRATEGIC INITIATIVES
- Managing continuous improvement projects, strategic transformation initiatives, and new venture developments within the plant.
- Driving initiatives focused on operational efficiency, reliability, cost optimisation, productivity, and process improvement.
- Supporting the development of business cases, feasibility studies, and investment proposals.
- Tracking and reporting on benefit realisation and value delivery.
SUSTAINABILITY AND LONG-TERM PLANT VIABILITY
- Leading and supporting projects that enhance environmental sustainability, energy efficiency, resource utilisation, and compliance.
- Ensuring sustainability principles are embedded in project design, execution, and decision making.
- Contributing to the long-term resilience and competitiveness of the White River plant.
STAKEHOLDER AND REGIONAL COLLABORATION
- Engaging and coordinating with cross-functional local stakeholders to ensure alignment and execution.
- Collaborating with regional and group teams, particularly in Portugal, to align on standards, methodologies, and shared initiatives.
- Managing relationships with external partners, ensuring contractual, safety, and performance expectations are met.
COMMUNICATION, REPORTING AND GOVERNANCE
- Providing structured, accurate, and timely reporting to the CITO South Africa and relevant stakeholders.
- Facilitating project steering committees, workshops, and decision forums.
- Ensuring transparent communication of progress, risks, issues, and key decisions.
