You have the experience and attention to detail to manage diverse teams protecting our people and our site: South Africa’s most valuable diamond mine and currently one of its biggest infrastructure projects. You’ll need to remain calm under pressure and communicate well at all levels. As Fixed Plant Urgent Work Coordinator E&I, you will be required to lead the Urgent Work crew which consists of both electrical and C&I Technicians. Additional responsibilities will be to maintain and assist in the operation of fixed plant installations, equipment and systems according to sound engineering practice for equipment and installation specifications.
Qualifications required
Grade 12 certificate or relevant national NQF level qualification.
Trade Certificate: Electrical or Mechanical
Code B Driver’s License
A supervisory qualification would be advantageous
Experience Required:
3+ Years of continuous experience as an Artisan in Shafts & Surface Infrastructure systems. With relative maintenance experience in maintaining Koepe Winders, BAC, and Main Ventilation Fans
Experience with Siemens simo code, PLCs, electrical switchgear
Must have MQA – MV Switching Certificate
Must be informed concerning PLC and SCADA systems in particular Siemens PLC’s and WinCC SCADA systems
Minimum of 3 years previous experience in maintenance and installation supervision of Shafts & Surface Infrastructure. With relative maintenance experience in maintaining Koepe Winders, BAC, and Main Ventilation Fans
Written and verbal communication skills
Budgeting and cost control
Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Proficiency in SAP will be advantageous
Duties and Responsibilities
To perform technical C&I-related engineering activities in the operation/ project/ division, providing an integrated and effective engineering service ensuring the achievement of departmental objectives and provision of technical guidance to other departments.
Provides input to and updates the overall engineering plan for maintenance and repair of electrical infrastructure, equipment, and machinery to support the operations.
Planning of activities in accordance with production schedules and allocation of resources as required.
Effective communication to relevant stakeholders to minimize production delays.
Investigate, diagnose and perform trade-related maintenance and repair of electrical infrastructure, equipment and machinery according to the maintenance requirements.
Attend to defects raised on pre-start reports, breakdown sheets and over-inspection reports.
Perform inspections in accordance with the Mine Health & Safety Act regulations, manufacturing and company standards to report all defects and breakdowns on equipment and machinery to the Line Manager.
Perform electrical infrastructure and equipment over-inspection on work done by artisans and operators.
Provide relevant feedback to the Supervisor and co-workers regarding electrical infrastructure and equipment performance and conditions
