A leading food producer in the poultry industry, based on the South Coast, is seeking a qualified and experienced Welder to join its Engineering Team.
This is a hands-on, high-intensity role within a fast-paced poultry processing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and fabricating critical processing machinery, equipment, and infrastructure to maximise production output and minimise downtime.

Maintenance & Repairs: Perform urgent and routine maintenance and repairs on food processing machinery, hydraulic systems, conveyor systems, and other plant equipment to maximise production output and minimise downtime.
Fabrication & Installation: Fabricate, install, modify, and repair stainless steel and mild steel equipment, including pipework, chutes, cages, platforms, and structural steel.
Fault Finding & Diagnostics: Diagnose faults and failures on machinery, equipment, and structural components and rectify issues through welding, cutting, fabrication, and repair.
Welding: Perform high-quality MIG, TIG, and Arc welding on a range of materials and equipment.
Technical Drawings: Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, specifications, and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) to ensure accurate fabrication and installation.
Food Industry Standards: Ensure all fabrication, repairs, and maintenance activities meet required food safety, hygiene, quality, and engineering standards.
Health & Safety: Adhere to all company health and safety procedures and applicable Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) requirements.
Shift & Standby: Be willing to work shifts, weekends, standby duties, and emergency call-outs as required in a 24/7 production environment.
Red Seal Trade Certificate in Welding or Boilermaking is essential/preferred.
Proven experience in MIG, TIG, and Arc welding.
Strong experience working with stainless steel, preferably within the food or poultry manufacturing industry.
Experience with mild steel fabrication.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and WPS.
Ability to fabricate and install machinery components, pipework, chutes, structural steel, and related equipment.
Strong mechanical aptitude with good fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
Sound understanding of health and safety protocols.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced production environment.
Reliable, disciplined, and able to work as part of a team.
Willingness to work shifts and standby in a 24/7 operational environment.
Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport.
