Job Purpose
We are looking for an experienced Plate Boilermaker to fabricate, assemble, install, maintain, and repair steel structures and heavy plate components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and fabrication specifications.
Measure, mark, cut, shape, bend, and prepare steel plates and structural components.
Fabricate and assemble steel structures and heavy plate components.
Perform accurate fit-up of plates and components before welding.
Use equipment such as grinders, cutting torches, guillotines, bending machines, and other fabrication tools.
Conduct basic welding, tack welding, and preparation of joints for welding.
Inspect completed work to ensure correct dimensions and quality standards.
Repair and maintain fabricated steel structures and equipment where required.
Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.
Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean working area.
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12/Matric or relevant technical qualification.
Recognised Boilermaker Trade Test/Red Seal qualification preferred.
Proven experience as a Plate Boilermaker in a fabrication, engineering, mining, or heavy industrial environment.
Strong experience working with heavy steel plates.
Ability to read and interpret technical/engineering drawings.
Experience with cutting, grinding, bending, forming, fitting, and welding preparation.
Good knowledge of fabrication measurements and tolerances.
Physically fit and able to work safely in an industrial environment.
