Job Summary
Key Performance Areas:
- Drive a service excellence culture by enabling the team to provide a professional, cost-effective, and value-adding service to the client at all times.
- Facilitate efficient budget and financial management by ensuring all expenditure is authorised and recorded.
- Work with suppliers to obtain the most suitable and cost-effective equipment and consumables.
- Manage the ordering and stock control of hygiene consumables and chemicals.
- Manage the provision of hygiene cleaning chemicals and dosing equipment on site — including carrying out periodic chemical dosing checks, maintenance of equipment, and overseeing the safe storage, decant, transport and use of chemicals on site.
- Maintain detailed cleaning instructions and schedules for all hygiene cleaning activities to ensure required standards are met.
- Conduct compliance audits/inspections of internal hygiene standards and documentation.
- Support the Technical & QA teams in obtaining samples for testing and participating in microbiological investigations to drive improvements in site hygiene standards.
- Provide training and awareness for all hygiene staff in all procedures (SOPs) relevant to their role.
- Ensure all hygiene staff are trained and competent in all procedures relevant to their role.
- Maintain authorised persons lists for each piece of equipment as required.
- Conduct emergency response spill training for all relevant staff.
- Ensure all tasks are conducted in accordance with all legislative, company and site health & safety policies, and ensure that all hazards, accidents/incidents are reported and investigated in a timely manner.
- Ensure material safety data sheets for all chemicals used on site are maintained, updated regularly, and are accessible to all staff.
- Recruit, induct and develop competent employees.
- Ensure all disciplinary incidents and staff absence are dealt with in a professional and timely manner and in accordance with company human resources policies.
- Effectively communicate with all team members on a regular basis and provide opportunities for feedback and two-way communication.
- Create an inspiring team environment where conflict and grievances are swiftly and sensitively dealt with.
- Provide key performance indicator data as required and comply with all internal and external audit requirements.
- Develop strong working relationships with clients, suppliers, management and other key stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement in site standards.
- Actively comply with and enforce all relevant statutory, company and site policies and procedures.
- Create a high-performing team by setting clear team and individual goals/key performance indicators.
- Motivate and coach the team.
- Ensure understanding and adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Identify technical issues in the factory and address timeously, or escalate to the Area Manager to ensure timely resolution.
- Provide ongoing (daily/weekly, etc.) verbal and written (weekly site reports) feedback to management and the client.
- Review and update relevant cleaning processes/documents in a timely manner.
- Compile and submit reports and documentation to the Client, Management and/or HR as per agreed timelines.
- Liaise with HR to ensure effective management of leave, grievances, discipline, training, and performance.
- Attend audits and submit corrective actions where applicable in a timely manner.
- Complete, submit and file records and documentation in an efficient manner.
- Attend Client and Company meetings as and when required.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Completed Matric/Grade 12 certificate.
- A tertiary qualification in a technical field will be an added advantage.
- Extensive knowledge of hygiene cleaning processes, products, and supplies is essential.
- At least 5 years' hygiene cleaning industry experience, two (2) of which must have been in a supervisory role.
- Computer literacy (email and basic typing skills).
- Must be willing to work overtime (including weekends and public holidays) and night shift.
- Must be medically fit with the ability to lift/move heavy equipment, operate high-pressure hoses, and work at heights.
