Service Technician - Appliances
Location: JHB - Lanseria
Our company supplies, installs, and supports professional catering and laundry equipment for hospitality, healthcare, retail food, and institutional clients. Our work involves complex equipment, demanding environments, and high client expectations.
Role Overview
The technician will assist with the installation, servicing, and maintenance of commercial catering and laundry equipment. The role is hands-on and field-based, working under the guidance of senior technicians and service managers, with responsibility increasing as skills and reliability are proven.
This role is suited to someone who enjoys practical work, problem-solving, and learning in a real-world technical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with installation of catering and laundry equipment on client sites
- Perform routine servicing and preventative maintenance
- Support fault-finding and basic diagnostics on electrical, mechanical, and gas equipment
- Assist with commissioning of new equipment
- Complete service reports and job cards accurately
- Maintain tools, equipment, and service vehicles responsibly
- Communicate professionally with clients while on site
- Escalate technical issues or safety concerns promptly to senior technicians
Equipment Exposure
Depending on experience, the technician may work on:
- Commercial ovens, ranges, fryers, and grills
- Dishwashers and warewashing equipment
- Refrigeration equipment
- Professional laundry machines
- Gas and electrical appliances (within certification limits)
Required Qualifications & Experience
Technical qualification or trade exposure in:
- Electrical
- Mechanical
- Refrigeration
- Mechatronics
- or a related field
0–3 years’ experience in a technical or service role (junior candidates welcome)Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systemsValid driver’s license (essential)Willingness to travel to client sites
