Job Description:
A Junior Mechanical Engineer supports by designing, developing, testing, and maintaining mechanical systems, working on tasks like creating CAD models, detail drawings, assisting with assessments and design, troubleshooting issues, and preparing technical reports, requiring a B.Eng/B.Tech degree and strong problem-solving/CAD skills for entry-level roles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design & Development: Assist in creating mechanical designs, 3D models (CAD), technical detail drawings, and technical reports.
- Analysis & Testing: Perform basic engineering calculations, conduct fault investigations, and support testing of components and assemblies.
- Project Support: Aid in project planning, material specification, process specification, fault finding, and oversight.
- Documentation: Compile technical reports, maintain engineering records, and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards (ISO, etc.).
- Collaboration: Liaise with technical team, cross-functional teams, suppliers, and production personnel.
- Configuration Control: Ensure technical information is maintained by use of ECR, revisions, etc.

Performance Measures:
Key performance measures include Design & Development, Analysis & Reporting, Project Support, Documentation, Collaboration, and Configuration Control.
Competencies Required:
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. (B.Eng/B.Tech)
Knowledge: Familiarity with CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar; basic knowledge of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent communication and teamwork abilities; detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality work; eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Skills: CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks); Microsoft Office Suite; technical drawing and drafting; 3D modelling; prototyping; problem-solving.
Experience: 0-2 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering or a related position.
Technical Competencies: Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks preferably), clear understanding of manufacturing process and mechanics/physics fundamentals.
Behavioural Competencies: Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication (written/verbal), and attention to detail.
