- Relevant Technical Certification
- Minimum 2 years' experience repairing electronic devices or precision equipment.
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving ability.
- Strong computer literacy, including Windows and diagnostic software.
- Exceptional attention to detail and high-quality workmanship.
- Good manual dexterity and confidence working with small electronic components.
- Professional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
- High level of integrity, reliability and pride in your work.
- Highly Advantageous Experience
- Experience servicing or repairing products such as:
- Mobile phones
- Smartwatches
- GPS watches
- Consumer electronics
- Optical equipment
- Precision instruments
- Maintain the highest level of service for all brands the company is responsible for.
- Keep up to date with all the changes in technology across all products
- Train, guide and motivate the Technical Service Team to the highest level
- Manage and control all equipment, tools and spares
- SECONDARY RESPOSIBILITIES:
- To make sure the Company’s Mission statement is maintained at all times.
- To fully understand the Company’s policies and procedures
- Understand the operating procedures of all the products that the company distributes
- Repair or replace broken, damaged or worn parts of all the products that company distributes
- Learn how to repair all the products that company distributes
- Understand the various warranty policies that are applicable to all the product
- Test & replace batteries and other electric components
- Test computers and heart rate monitors for accuracy and performance
- Pair HRM’s with all accessories
- Estimate repair costs
- Record all repair serial numbers and ensure that the appropriate logs are entered in the Suunto website
- Gather information from customers about their units’ problem and its service history
- Understand and operate the company’s job costing computer system
- Advise customer as to the problem with their unit and the alternative to fix the unit and explain the cost implications
- Ensure repairs are done timeously and in terms of the company’s policies and procedures
- Ensure the service centre is kept clean and tidy at all times.
- Pick all stock required for each repair correctly and in good time.
- Escalate problems before they become an issue
- Follow up constantly when repairs are beyond the defined repair completion time
- Be available to work at selected events or shows as and when required, with reasonable notice
- ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- To drive a superior service level within the technical department
- Assist where required with the roll out the trade “Certified Suunto Service Centre ” (CSSC) program
- Attend and provide various services at selected Events/Exhibitions
- Assist where required with the “Suunto Service Hot line (Mobile phone)” going forward
- Assist with the learning and development of an in-house service department for Sports Optics Products going forward
- OTHER RESPOSIBILITIES:
- Complete stock takes of spares as require
- Highlight when spares stocks are running low
- Check spares stock is correctly picked
- Ensure workspace is always kept neat, tidy and clean
- Assist the Repairs Supervisor with admin duties
