Job & Company Description:
Our client operates within the consulting engineering environment and is looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer/Technologist to take on diverse building services and electrical infrastructure projects.The successful candidate will be involved in electrical design, reticulation, lighting design, backup power systems, and smaller‑scale solar PV projects. This role requires someone who can work both independently and collaboratively, while maintaining excellent technical quality and professional conduct.
Education:
- B.Eng Electrical Engineering OR
- B.Tech Electrical Engineering
- Professional Registration (Pr.Eng or Pr.TechEng) is essential
(Pr Technician is not acceptable)
Job Experience & Skills Required:
- Approximately 4–6 years’ experience, preferably within the consulting engineering industry
- Valid driver’s licence and own transport (site and meeting travel required)
- Experience with:
- AutoCAD & Revit
- Relux or Dialux for lighting designs
- DigSilent or similar software (advantageous)
Key Responsibilities:
- Building services electrical design (lighting, power distribution, DB boards, etc.)
- MV and LV reticulation design
- Generator and UPS system integration
- Exposure to MCCs, SCADA, and instrumentation (advantageous)
- Small‑scale Solar PV system design (<1MW)
Personal Characteristics:
- Reliable, professional, and of sober habits
- Able to work independently and within a team
