Job Title: Linesman – Split Meter Installation Project Job Purpose The Linesman will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and commissioning of split prepaid meter systems, including associated low-voltage (LV) distribution networks. The role ensures safe, compliant, and high-quality electrical work in line with project specifications and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities • Install split prepaid meters (keypad units and metering units) in residential and commercial properties • Perform wiring, cabling, and connections between meter units and distribution boards • Mount and install meter boxes, conduits, and associated electrical infrastructure • Conduct disconnections and reconnections of existing electrical supply where required • Test installations for functionality, accuracy, and safety compliance • Assist with fault finding and troubleshooting on meter installations and LV networks • Ensure all installations comply with SANS standards and local municipal requirements • Read and interpret electrical drawings, layouts, and specifications • Complete job cards, installation reports, and as-built documentation • Maintain tools, equipment, and materials in good working condition • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including the use of PPE • Liaise with supervisors, electricians, and project teams to ensure timely completion of work.Error!
