The Opportunity
You'll be working on sophisticated instrumentation, control systems, PLCs, SCADA platforms, motors, drives, analyzers, and electrical control equipment across industrial environments where uptime, precision, and reliability matter.
You'll form part of a team that values technical expertise, practical problem-solving, and a commitment to engineering excellence.
This is not a role for a technician who simply follows procedures.
This is a role for someone who questions, investigates, improves, and takes ownership.
What You'll Be Doing
- Installation, commissioning, calibration, and maintenance of instrumentation systems.
- Fault-finding and troubleshooting on PLC, SCADA, and control systems.
- Performing preventative and predictive maintenance activities.
- Calibration and verification of pressure, flow, level, temperature, and analytical instruments.
- Supporting plant reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Investigating recurring equipment failures and implementing corrective actions.
- Maintaining accurate technical documentation and reports.
- Assisting with automation upgrades and process optimization projects.
- Ensuring compliance with safety and engineering standards.
- Providing technical support to operations, maintenance, and engineering teams.
What We're Looking For
- National Diploma or N6 in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Process Control, or a related discipline.
- Trade Test as an Instrument Technician will be highly advantageous.
- Proven experience within industrial, manufacturing, process, water, chemical, mining, utilities, or heavy industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of instrumentation, control systems, PLCs, VSDs, MCCs, and automation equipment.
- Experience with calibration, commissioning, diagnostics, and technical problem-solving.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, loop drawings, and electrical schematics.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting ability.
The Ideal Candidate
You're curious.
You enjoy understanding how things work.
You don't replace parts until you've identified the root cause.
You can communicate with operators, engineers, and management alike.
You thrive in environments where technical excellence is recognised and valued.
Most importantly, you take pride in leaving equipment and processes better than you found them.
Why Join Mech Pro Tech?
- Work with advanced instrumentation and automation systems.
- Exposure to diverse industrial projects and technologies.
- Opportunity to contribute to plant performance and operational excellence.
- Join a business where technical capability is genuinely valued.
- Long-term growth and career development opportunities.
Ready for a role where your technical expertise truly matters?
Apply today and become part of a team where problem-solvers, innovators, and technically driven professionals can make a real impact.
