Company and Job Description:
This role is ideal for someone who has worked within a structural engineering design office and is now looking to pivot into a client-facing, commercially focused role — using their technical credibility to guide clients away from outdated tools toward more efficient, future-ready design workflows.
You will work closely with consulting engineers to understand their challenges, BIM maturity, and design processes, positioning yourself as a trusted technical advisor rather than a transactional salesperson.
Key Responsibilities:- Engage with structural engineering consultancies to understand their design workflows, challenges, and digital capability
- Promote and sell advanced structural analysis and design software solutions, acting as a technically credible, commercially astute point of contact
- Demonstrate how modern digital design tools can improve efficiency, speed, collaboration, and drawing production
- Deliver tailored product demonstrations, workshops, and solution presentations
- Build long-term client relationships and position yourself as a trusted technology partner
- Stay informed on trends, standards, and innovations within the structural engineering design industry
- Collaborate with internal technical and delivery teams to ensure successful customer onboarding and outcomes
Job Experience & Skills Required (Ideal Candidate Profile):
Minimum Requirements- Relevant tertiary qualification (engineering or related discipline)
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience within a structural engineering design office
- Strong technical foundation with the ambition to build a successful career in consultative sales
- Hands-on experience using structural analysis and design software
- Solid understanding of digital workflows across the structural design lifecycle
- Confidence engaging with both technical specialists and senior decision-makers
- Genuine interest in technology-driven transformation within the engineering environment
- Valid driver’s licence, reliable transport, and willingness to travel (locally and occasionally internationally)
Highly Advantageous- Experience working within BIM-enabled structural design environments
- Familiarity with 3D modelling and coordination platforms
- Understanding of structural BIM processes and standards
- Existing professional network within the structural engineering community
- Previous exposure to technical or consultative sales
