As the Senior Process Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in leading the engineering, design, development, and optimisation of process plants. You will guide a team of process engineers and collaborate with cross?functional departments to ensure successful project execution. Your expertise will drive efficiency, reduce costs, enhance product quality, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership to ensure your team is aligned with the company’s Vision, Mission, and Values
- Ensure design quality requirements are clearly understood, agreed upon, and controlled through proper change?management procedures
- Arrange and manage engineering consultants for specialised project needs
- Lead the process engineering, design, and development of new process plants or improvements to existing plants
- Apply process engineering principles, including mass and energy balances and P&ID design, to optimise and troubleshoot processes
- Identify opportunities for process and design optimisation to improve efficiency, reduce costs, increase throughput, and enhance product quality
- Select appropriate equipment and machinery; specify requirements and collaborate with vendors and discipline engineers to ensure compliance with project specifications
- Ensure all designed manufacturing processes comply with safety regulations and industry standards
- Identify potential hazards and implement safety protocols to mitigate risks
- Manage work allocation and daily operations of the process engineering team
- Mentor and develop process engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering a collaborative environment
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process efficiency, quality, and reliability
Qualifications & Experience
- BSc Chemical Engineering or BTech Chemical Engineering — Essential
- 10+ years’ experience in process plant design and commissioning — Essential
- ECSA registration — Desirable
- Strong knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations
- Proven adaptability to changing project priorities and requirements
- Exceptional time?management and problem?solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Extensive experience in process plants — Essential
