The Warehouse Manager will take full ownership of a significant warehouse operation. This is a key role within the business, with responsibility for the people, stock, processes and day-to-day performance of the warehouse.
Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management and performance of the warehouse operation.
Lead, manage and develop warehouse staff, supervisors and team leaders, ensuring clear accountability and performance standards.
Manage the full warehouse process, including receiving, storage, picking, dispatch and deliveries.
Ensure accurate and effective stock control, stock safeguarding and inventory management.
Plan and manage regular stocktakes, ensuring accuracy and addressing discrepancies.
Ensure goods are received, stored and dispatched safely, accurately and efficiently.
Oversee warehouse vehicles, deliveries and related operational requirements.
Develop, implement and maintain effective warehouse processes, procedures and systems.
Monitor operational performance, identify inefficiencies and implement improvements.
Ensure the warehouse operates in accordance with relevant health, safety and operational standards.
Manage warehouse-related administration, reporting and documentation.
Work closely with other departments and stakeholders to ensure effective integration of warehouse operations across the business.
Monitor warehouse productivity, service levels, costs and operational targets.
Identify opportunities to improve warehouse layout, workflows, processes, equipment utilisation and overall efficiency.
Take ownership of operational challenges and ensure issues are resolved effectively and timeously.
Build a culture of accountability, discipline, teamwork and continuous improvement.
Matric / Grade 12.
Relevant tertiary qualification in Warehousing, Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations or a related field would be advantageous.
Experience managing a distribution centre or dedicated warehouse operation is important.
Track record of high accountability in a warehouse environment.
Strong work ethic.
Experience managing people effectively in a warehouse environment.
Strong knowledge of receiving, dispatch, stock control and warehouse processes.
Experience managing stocktakes and inventory accuracy.
Experience with warehouse systems / WMS and operational reporting.
Knowledge of warehouse health and safety requirements.
Experience managing or coordinating deliveries and warehouse vehicles.
Strong administrative, planning and organisational skills.
