Job Summary
The purpose of this role is to assist the Investment Analyst in providing extensive reporting, monitoring and analysis of the investment portfolios of the Corporation and the establishment and upkeep of the systems to support these functions. The role also entails liaising with the Corporation’s back and middle offices and the custodian. The incumbent will work closely with the investment analyst to ensure that key deliverables are met.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES, MEASURES & INTERFACES
- Assist the Investment Analyst with month reconciliation of investment transactions and asset
valuations
- Assist the Investment Analyst with execution of investment instructions and liaison between back
office, middle office and asset managers
- Assist the Investment Analyst with preparation of monthly and quarterly investment reports that
include asset manager and portfolio returns, comparison against benchmarks, performance
attribution, portfolio composition summaries and commentary
- Assist with preparation of various monthly and quarterly reports in support of other units within the
Corporation such as finance, risk and actuarial
- Assist in monitoring and reporting market, credit and liquidity risk to ensure compliance with defined
limits
- Assist with the rebalancing of the investment portfoliosAssist with monitoring fund managers
compliance with mandates/benchmarks and report
- Provision of documented processes and illustrations as requested by auditors
- Any adhoc projects assigned by the Head of Investments
- Assist the investment specialist with producing research notes from manager report backs and due diligences
- Assist with manager onboarding, transition planning and post transition reconciliation
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- A relevant University degree BCom/BSc in Investments management or related discipline
(Mathematics, Statistics or Economics)
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in investment environment
- Knowledge of external market systems such as Bloomberg will be an advantage
