Please note: you’ll need to be open to relocating to Cape Town at your own cost.
Our client, operating within the financial services and investment sector, is looking for an Enterprise Risk Manager to sit at the centre of their operations. Reporting into senior leadership, you’ll play a key role in making sure the business doesn’t just react to risk, but stays ahead of it.
In this role, you’ll take full ownership of the enterprise risk framework, ensuring it’s not just a document that gathers dust, but a living, breathing part of how the business operates. Whether it’s operational risk, IT risk, or emerging threats, you’ll be the person turning uncertainty into structure and control.
This is a dynamic environment where your voice will matter. Your ability to challenge thinking, anticipate issues, and occasionally remind people “this is why we plan ahead” will directly contribute to the organisation’s resilience and long-term success.
If you enjoy working at both a strategic and operational level, thrive in fast-moving environments, and believe risk management should actively shape business decisions, not just audit findings, this opportunity offers real impact and growth.
What you’ll be responsible for:
- Owning and enhancing the enterprise risk management framework
- Identifying, analysing, and reporting key risks to leadership and Board level
- Implementing mitigation strategies that are practical and embedded in operations
- Overseeing operational and IT risk, including cybersecurity exposure
- Driving process improvements and supporting technology enablement
- Managing IT risk strategy and coordinating with outsourced providers
- Supporting business continuity and disaster recovery initiatives
- Conducting due diligence across service providers and operational processes
- Embedding a proactive, accountable risk culture across the business
What you’ll need to bring:
- A relevant qualification in Finance, Risk, Engineering, or similar
- 5–10 years’ experience in enterprise risk management, with an operational focus
- CISA (advantageous)
- Strong exposure to IT risk and cybersecurity
- Background within financial services
- Deep understanding of risk frameworks, governance, and controls
- Ability to simplify complex risks into actionable business decisions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
- Confidence to engage and influence at an executive level
What will set you apart:
- Commercial awareness and business acumen
- Strong collaboration skills
- Critical and forward-thinking mindset
- Ability to influence and drive change
- Results-oriented approach
- Curiosity and commitment to continuous improvement
- High attention to detail
- A hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves attitude
