Job Summary
A leading freight-forwarding company in Johannesburg is seeking an experienced National Credit and Risk Manager to join their Head Office Finance team. Reporting to the CFO, this strategic role will oversee the Group’s credit risk framework, debtor portfolio, collections, trade finance activities, credit insurance, and working capital management across multiple entities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for protecting cash flow, reducing financial risk, and supporting business growth through effective credit and risk management.
Key Responsibilities include:
Managing credit risk by assessing, approving, or declining credit applications according to company policies.
Conducting creditworthiness assessments using financials, credit reports, and supporting documentation.
Managing customer credit limits and ensuring appropriate credit insurance coverage.
Conducting regular reviews of debtor accounts and credit facilities.
Overseeing debtor management, collections, overdue accounts, payment negotiations, and repayment plans.
Monitoring ageing reports to improve cash flow and reduce debtor days.
Managing legal recoveries, insolvencies, and recovery processes.
Supporting trade finance activities and working capital optimisation.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in credit management, risk assessment, collections, debtor control, and financial risk mitigation within a corporate environment.
