Contract: Expatriate Assignment

A well-established and reputable construction group in Tanzania is seeking an experienced Production & Manufacturing Manager to oversee their high-end joinery and bespoke woodworking operation. The organisation has been delivering premium residential, commercial, hospitality, industrial, and infrastructure projects across East Africa for nearly three decades, including luxury lodges, hotels, corporate offices, apartment developments, and specialist architectural builds.

The joinery division focuses on crafting custom, high-quality pieces from local hardwoods, supporting both stand-alone clients and the company’s broader construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead full production planning and scheduling to meet deadlines and quality expectations.
• Manage and supervise workshop staff, including task allocation, performance monitoring and skills development.
• Oversee budgeting, cost management, and production profitability.
• Implement and maintain strict quality assurance standards.
• Manage material procurement, stock control, and coordination with internal teams.
• Ensure full compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Oversee ** machinery and equipment maintenance**, reducing downtime and improving efficiency.
• Continuously analyse production data to drive process and workflow improvements.
• Collaborate closely with design, sales, procurement, construction and logistics teams.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong technical knowledge of joinery, woodworking and manufacturing processes.
• Proven experience in production or workshop management within a joinery or manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with quality management systems (ISO experience advantageous).
• Ability to read and produce technical drawings (AutoCAD essential).
• Strong leadership, communication, and team-management abilities.
• Budget management and organisational capability.
• Solutions-driven, accountable, and able to work under pressure.
• Working knowledge of 5-Axis CNC operations (strong advantage).
