Job Summary
Our client, a leading company in the Heavy Steel Construction industry, is seeking an Experienced Tekla Draughtsman to join their engineering and fabrication team in Rustenburg. The ideal candidate will have strong technical drawing skills, experience in AutoCAD and Tekla, and a keen eye for detail within structural and SMPP environments.

Key Responsibilities
Technical Draughting
- Produce accurate 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD and Tekla
- Prepare fabrication, assembly, and general arrangement drawings
- Update and revise drawings according to engineering changes
Structural & SMPP Detailing
- Create detailed drawings for structural steel, platework, and piping
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and project requirements
- Ensure drawings comply with industry standards and client specifications
Workshop & Project Support
- Assist workshop teams with drawing clarifications
- Provide support during fabrication and installation phases
- Ensure accurate document control and drawing version management
Coordination & Communication
- Liaise with engineers, project managers, and workshop supervisors
- Attend project meetings when required
- Ensure timely delivery of drawings to support project schedules
Minimum Requirements
Technical Skills
- Proficient in AutoCAD
- Experience in Tekla Structures (essential)
- Ability to produce fabrication?ready drawings
Experience
- 3-5 years’ experience as a Draughtsman
- Experience in structural steel, SMPP, or fabrication environments (advantageous)
Competencies
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong organisational and document?management ability
