Painting Supervisor – (Rustenburg)
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Painting Supervisor to oversee painting activities on steel products and structures. The successful candidate will ensure all work is completed according to required quality standards, specifications, and project timelines.Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the work of painters in the workshop.
- Ensure correct surface preparation and steel-painting processes are followed.
- Conduct paint-thickness measurements using appropriate inspection tools and ensure compliance with specifications.
- Perform quality inspections and complete sign-off reports for finished painting work.
- Maintain accurate records, progress reports, and provide regular feedback to management on job status.
- Manage paint stock levels, conduct stock-takes, and arrange ordering of paint and related materials when required.
- Ensure all painting work is completed safely and in accordance with internal procedures and quality standards.
- Monitor productivity and ensure projects remain on schedule.
Minimum Requirements:
- Proven experience in steel painting within a construction or engineering environment.
- Previous supervisory experience managing painting teams.
- Experience with paint inspection and report sign-offs.
- Knowledge of paint-thickness measurement tools (e.g., DFT gauges).
- Experience with stock control and ordering of paint/materials.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to provide accurate progress feedback to management.
Advantageous:
- Knowledge of industrial coating systems and quality standards.
- Experience working with client inspections or third-party inspectors.
