Job Summary
Description:Hire Resolve's Client is currently looking for an experienced Buyer to join their company based in North-West. You will be responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement process, from sourcing and supplier engagement through to purchasing and delivery, while ensuring cost-effective and compliant procurement.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process from purchase requisition through to purchase order and delivery.
- Source, evaluate and negotiate with suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and favourable terms.
- Obtain and evaluate quotations and make appropriate purchasing recommendations.
- Manage supplier relationships and follow up on outstanding orders and deliveries.
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, payment terms and delivery requirements.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with policies, approval requirements and commercial controls.
- Resolve supplier, invoice, delivery and purchasing discrepancies.
- Liaise with Finance, Engineering, Maintenance, Stores and other operational departments.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier information and purchasing reports.
- Monitor outstanding purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of required goods and services.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and improved supplier performance.
- Support continuous improvement of procurement processes and efficiencies.
Requirements:
- Grade 12
- Degree/Diploma in Supply Chain/Procurement
- Minimum 3 - 6 years' experience as a Buyer within a mining environment
- Strong supplier negotiation and commercial skills
- Good understanding of purchasing processes and procurement controls
- Strong Excel and ERP/procurement system experience
- SAP / Ariba / Coupa experience will be advantageous
- Valid Driver's License
