Overview
Our client in the construction and steel fabrication sector is seeking an experienced Project Planner / Scheduler to manage, coordinate, and maintain all project‑related information and schedules. The successful candidate must have strong experience using Microsoft Projects, with a solid understanding of construction and steel‑related project environments. This role requires excellent organisational skills, accuracy, and the ability to work independently within a fast‑paced project environment.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Scheduling
Develop, update, and maintain detailed project schedules using Microsoft Projects.
Coordinate project timelines, milestones, and deliverables across multiple teams.
Track progress, identify delays, and update schedules accordingly.
Prepare project progress reports and schedule forecasts.
Ensure all project information is accurate, up to date, and aligned with operational requirements.
Project Coordination & Documentation
Maintain project documentation, registers, and reporting structures.
Liaise with project managers, engineers, and site teams to gather accurate project data.
Assist with planning meetings, progress reviews, and schedule presentations.
Support project controls, risk identification, and timeline management.
Construction & Steel Industry Alignment
Work within a construction/steel fabrication environment with an understanding of project workflows.
Interpret project drawings, fabrication timelines, and installation sequences.
Ensure schedules reflect realistic production, fabrication, and installation durations.
Minimum Requirements
Strong experience using Microsoft Projects (non‑negotiable).
Experience as a Project Planner / Scheduler in construction, steel fabrication, or related project environments.
Solid understanding of project lifecycles, timelines, and deliverables.
Ability to interpret project documentation, drawings, and technical information.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple project schedules simultaneously.
Willingness to work in Rustenburg
